This article introduce a new term in the field of health information and health communication called the "Doom Scrolling" and tries to draw the attention of health professionals to this issue by referring to its effects on the health of the individual and society.People are faced with a wide range of news in their lives, some of which have negative and unpleasant content (1). Usually, people consider searching for information as a way to deal with challenging situations. On the other hand, coping and adapting to unpleasant information can also be a coping behavior; because it warns people about existing dangers and prepares them for similar threats in the future (2). One of the new challenges in the health science is the existence, tendency and desire of some people to "follow unpleasant news" (Doom Scrolling or Doom surfing), which has various reasons and can occur in different health fields. Some of these reasons are: passive use of social media, habitual media use, anxiety, weak self-control and some other personality traits of people. Men, younger adults, and politicians are also more likely to do doom scrolling. In general, it seems that following such news is particularly attractive for some people. (3).

Introduction: Pregnant women use the Internet to meet their information needs. Despite the contradictory information on the web, the increase in anxiety and its negative effects on fetal growth and maternal health, the importance of online search for health information becomes apparent. The study population consisted of pregnant women referring to Fatemeh Alzahra hospital in year 2019. Based on Cochran's formula, a sample size of 357 people was calculated. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire; the initial version of it was prepared with 34 questions. Research data were analyzed using correlation test and regression analysis. Results: Health information seeking behavior among the studied pregnant women was desirable, with an average of higher than 3 in all variables. The variables of convenience, trust, and usefulness at the level of more than 50% explained the attitude and ultimately the search for health information among pregnant women. Conclusion: The pregnant women of current study had the same information needs as other women in domestic and foreign research. An important issue in this regard is the high level of trust in online information, which highlights the need for health centers to pay attention to health education and health information literacy during pregnancy.

Immediate access to special clinical services remotely has an important role in transferring information, informing clinical diagnosis, and distance learning. Health systems have faced with various opportunities and challenges during implementation of telemedicine. This study aimed to explore the challenges and opportunities in health systems for implementation of telemedicine. In this comprehensive review, local and international databases were searched according to a search strategy from January 2000 to January 2018. Then, an analysis was conducted on 24 selected papers. Use of telemedicine technology results in many challenges related to informational and communicational infrastructures, health, standards, laws and regulations, training, and security. Despite these challenges, significant opportunities are also presented specially in regards to pervasiveness of informational and communicational information, providing universal access to updated information, and disappearance of technology gaps through globalization, which can be suitable methods for eliminating the aforementioned challenges.

Introduction: Although many studies have been conducted on thalassemia from different aspects, none of them have yet identified the preferences of parents of patients with thalassemia major in receiving health information. Parents of these patients need appropriate and timely information to manage and resolve the problems of their children and family. This study aimed to identify the preferences of these parents in obtaining information to manage their children’s health. Methods: This was an applied, descriptive, and cross-sectional research. The study was conducted through interviews with the parents of patients with thalassemia major who were admitted to the pediatric ward of a hospital affiliated to Semnan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, in 2014. The data collection tool was a valid and reliable researcher-made questionnaire (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.87). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Friedman test. Results: According to the results, 39.6% of the parents reported obtaining information about mental health problems as their first priority, while 56.6% of the parents reported obtaining information about the side effects of Desferal as their first priority. In addition, 56.6% of the parents preferred that the information be given to the patients’ father. Conclusion: The results indicated the type of information parents prefer to obtain first. Informational support can help the parents better manage their children’s illness. Transference of valuable knowledge through several information sources to the parents can lead to improvement of health in the society and parents feeling that they are socially supported.
