Abstract

Introduction: The hospital information system is a powerful tool for all health-related activities such as planning, monitoring, coordination and decision-making .This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the success of the hospital information system and the hospital organizational performance from the perspective of staff.

Methods: The present study is a corolation study of correlation type. 270 hospital staff were selected by stratified random sampling. Data were collected using two standard information system success questionnaires and Hospital organizational performance questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by descriptive and inferential statistical tests (Spearman correlation test).

Results: Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the success of the hospital information system and its dimensions with the performance of the organization from the staff perspective (r = 0.617 and p <0.001(.

Conclusion: According to the findings of the study, it can be stated that the successful establishment of the hospital information system by providing accurate and reliable information in all parts of the health system from the perspective of staff can improve the organizational performance of the hospital.
