AbstractIntroduction: Nowadays, hospitals face challenges such as overcrowding in the emergency department and increased chaos and disruption in staff work, which leads to increased patient dissatisfaction. With the advancement of artificial intelligence and the expansion of data mining, predicting patient admission has become very important. The aim of this research is to predict patient admission in the emergency department of Imam Ali (AS) Hospital in Shahrekord.Methods: In this research, 2180 patient records from the emergency department of the hospital were examined. Initial patient information, including personal details, vital signs, and triage level which were recorded by nurses, were extracted. Using pairwise comparison matrix, the effective features were selected by experts. Then, using naive Bayes, decision tree, random forest, and support vector machine algorithms, the data was classified. Results: Out of the 15 collected features, 9 features were selected by experts, and the results showed that the random forest algorithm had the best performance in predicting patient admission in this case study, with an accuracy of 92/2%Conclusion: These results demonstrate the importance of using artificial intelligence and data mining methods in hospital management and patient admission prediction. Introduction: Emergency departments of hospitals play a very important role in the health system, and the effectiveness of these services can be effectively increased by using health information technologies. The purpose of this study was to prioritize the challenges of implementing electronic medical records in the emergency department of selected hospitals in Isfahan.Methods: This descriptive-cross-sectional study was conducted in 1401. The research population included doctors and nurses from Al-Zahra, Kashani and Amin hospitals of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The data was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of this tool was confirmed based on the opinions of 10 experts, and the reliability of the questionnaire was obtained by calculating Cronbach's alpha of 0.85. Data analysis was done using SPSS statistical software software and presented via Mean and standard deviation.Results: The findings showed that challenges in the organizational field, technical field, human field, and financial field had the first to fourth priority, respectively, among the organizational challenges, the increase in the workload of health service providers, the complexity of the processes of accepting and providing services to emergency patients and the lack of necessary infrastructure for electronic transmission of information to interested organizations has been assigned the highest priority.Conclusion: The effective implementation of electronic medical records in the emergency department of the studied hospitals requires the development of effective processes for accepting and providing medical services to emergency patients, providing the necessary organizational and technical infrastructure for proper access of health service providers and other users to electronic records. and providing funds for training users.

Introduction: Local emergency ward is designated to provision of treatment services for patients which is closely related to salvaging people’s lives. The main purpose is to apply simulation and improved treatment process procedure for appropriate designation of environment, resources and funds in the emergency ward and improvement of functional indexes. Methods: This is an applied-developmental study conducted during a one month period in 2012 on the patients referring to the emergency ward of Arak hospital and all the data were gathered through either observations or questionnaires consistent with the format of the Ministry of Healthcare. Both face content validity and stability of data were determined using the 93percent Cronbach's alpha factor. Non-probability purposive sampling is carried out with no prototypes to the number of 70350 case. The data analysis was conducted via Easy Fit software whereas simulation modeling was performed through Arena software. Results: Four different scenarios were simulated in this study using the Arena software, the results of which are presented both quantitatively and comparatively with respect to the functional indexes. The first scenario is considered as the prototype with a cost index of nearly 44 million units of of money and 37 percent care in the resuscitation ward, according to which the other three scenarios were designed and conducted. Conclusion: The results of this research show that the improved model would lead to more appropriate classification of work procedure and improvement of functional indexes in an emergency ward as compared with the previous model. Also, appropriate alteration in the number of resources and beds may improve the provision of services to the patients and resolve their dissatisfactions.
