Introduction: This research investigates the articles' structure and thematic relationships in environmental health. Studying scientific outputs using scientometric indicators is an effective tool for understanding scientific research.Methods: The present research was conducted with a scientometric approach to content analysis of texts using the co-occurrence method of words and social network analysis. The statistical population includes 7438 articles indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) in the field of environmental health in the period 2011-2020. Data analysis was done using cluster analysis method and strategic diagram.Results: The findings showed that in terms of the frequency of public health keywords, air pollution and climate change were the most frequent in environmental health researches. The findings related to hierarchical clustering led to the formation of 10 clusters in this area, and the clusters of "heavy metals" and "air pollution" were identified as clusters with high centrality and density.Conclusion: According to the abundance of keywords and clusters obtained from the strategic diagram, it was found that the topics of heavy metals and air pollution are emerging fields in this field. Some important issues related to environmental health, such as environmental health management, water quality management, etc., have received less attention.Keywords: Environmental Health, Thematic Clusters, Thematic Structure, Scientometrics, Co-Word Analysis.

Introduction: New applications of studies to draw the structure of science including clustering concepts and identifying new fields of studies. This study was co-word analysis of intellectual structure of knowledge in the field of throbbing headaches.Methods: The research was conducted adopting a scientometric approach to content analysis of texts using the co-words and social network analysis. A total of 1311 documents were identified from the Topic="Medical Anthropology" search strategy in the WOS database. Data analysis was been done through cluster analysis method and strategic diagram.Results: The findings related to clustering led to the formation of eight thematic clusters: "Biomedical Anthropology", "AIDS and Covid-19 (epidemics)","Medical Anthropology with a Spiritual Approach", "Economic Medical Anthropology", "Ethnic Medicine", "Medical Anthropology" Applied", "Education and culture of health" and "Anthropology of reproduction". "AIDS and Covid-19 (epidemics)" was determined to be the highest centrality and density cluster.Conclusion: Using co-word analysis, it is possible to determine the scientific structure of a field. According to the frequency of keywords and clusters obtained from the strategic diagram, it was revealed that the thematic fields of AIDS and Covid-19 (epidemics) are the important emerging fields in this field.

Introduction: Abortion refers to the intentional or unintentional termination of a pregnancy before the fetus can survive outside the mother's body. This study sought to do was to perform a thematic analysis on the field of abortion in Islamic countries.Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was performed with scientometric approach through the co-word and network analysis technique. Scientific products of Islamic countries in the abortion field were extracted from the Web of Science database from 1999 to 2018.Results: Most documents in the field of abortion were produced by three countries: Turkey, Iran, and Egypt. Countries with high production had better cooperation in the scientific network. Obstetrics and gynecology and the biology of reproduction were the most important topics for researchers. Out of 12 thematic clusters formed, the medical abortion was the main subject.Conclusion: The approach taken in the majority of the studies was on induced abortion, with an emphasis on medical abortion. Some issues such as the threat to abortion, the clinical diagnosis of abortion, and the psychological, social, and legal aspects of the abortion, have received less attention.

Introduction: Graphical mapping of an academic field make it more accurate to identify the branches of human knowledge and transform the concept of abstraction to concrete objectives. This study aimed to map the related articles in medical sociology field.Methods: The descriptive-analytical study analyzed the content of the texts with a scientometrics approach. The sample included all international scientific articles in the field of medical sociology indexed in PubMed database from 1945-2018. UCINET and NetDraw were used to analyze the data and draw the scientific map.Results: According to the indicators of centrality, the topic of "physician-patient relationship" was ranked first in all three types of centrality. According to the indicators of closeness and degree, the prominent value was given to the thematic categories of "health attitude" and "social and economic factors". Besides, the topic of "medical care delivery" had the most prominent value in terms of betweenness centrality.Conclusion: The social network analysis indexes are effective in analyzing scientific maps. The formed thematic structure and the relationship between them show the interdisciplinary nature of the field of medical sociology. Some important issues related to medical sociology, such as social parameters affecting treatment and rehabilitation, epidemiological research, and healthy behavior, have received less attention.

Introduction: Altmetrics (Alternative Indicators) are indicators which can be exploited alongside traditional scientometric concepts based on the citation analysis to examine the impact of scientific products on the Web 2.0 environment. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of international articles in the field of medical informatics and health information management (HIM) in social media and to determine the level of use of researchers from these media, in addition to identifying top articles based on Altmetrics scores.Methods: The present study was conducted with a scientometric approach using Altmetric indicators. The research population consisted of 64 journals in the field of HIM and medical informatics indexed at the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) and Scopus databases. All the necessary information about the journals and articles, such as the name of the journal, the name of the article, the altimetric score, etc. was obtained by referring to the Altmetric.com website. Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the data.Results: Mendeley, Twitter, and Facebook were among the social media that received the most mentions. The findings indicated that there was a significant relationship between altmetrics coverage (presence in social web environment) and three quality performance indices (SJR, snipe, and site score). The correlation coefficients obtained for these three indices were 0.401, 0.248, and 0.285, respectively.Conclusion: Social media can have a positive effect on the citation rate of scientific articles. Therefore, researchers in the field of medical informatics and HIM can increase the number of citations by sharing their works on social media. Due to the lack of strong correlation in this study, altmetrics can be used to complement scientometrics indices, but not as an alternative to evaluating scientific research.

Introduction: The relationship between science and technology is of evolving and changing type, and it might vary from discipline to discipline and from time to time. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate and explain the relationship between the science and technology in dental implants field. Methods: This study was implemented through content analysis, using co-word analysis approach. The database on the United States Patent and Trademark Office was used to retrieve patents, while the PubMed was used to retrieve the papers in dental implants field. In total, 1479 papers as well as 433 patents were studied. The phrase "dental implants" was searched as a Mesh descriptor, and the document type was filtered by "clinical trial".Results: Assessment of the asymmetric similarity of the phrases used in clinical trial with patents and vice versa revealed that 39.15% of the terms used in patents were also used in these papers. In other words, 39.15% of the terms of patents were similar to the ones used in papers of clinical trial. This was while only 5.31% of the terms in these papers were the same terms used in patent papers.Conclusion: The accessibility of a document will increase its application and its visibility. In other words, it can be inferred that technology is affected by science. In general, in dental implants field, the path to science and technology is interconnected, and there is a direct relationship between them; however this is a two-way relationship, but technology has more influence on science.

Introduction: Due to the high prevalence of depression and the considerable pressure it puts on individuals, society and healthcare system, it is essential to conduct sufficient research to help with decision making in prevention, treatment and control of this condition. To assist with research planning and setting priorities, this paper aimed to identify the thematic structure of papers related to depression treatment.Methods: This was an applied research study which used Scientometrics approach. To obtain data, the keyword “Depression” was searched as a mesh descriptor with the subdivision “Therapy” in PubMed database for the period of 2005 to 2014. The data were analyzed using co-word and clustering methods with the help of Excel and SPSS software packages.Results: The growth of scientific production in this field appeared to have been balanced throughout the ten-year period examined in the study. The most active research areas for the two five year periods (2005-2009 and 2010-2014) were drug therapy, psychology, and medication adherence. Two hierarchical graphs of descriptors for each five-year period were prepared both of which were composed of 12 clusters with 34 common descriptors.Conclusion: The findings based on the inclusion index showed that only 20 percent of topics in the second five-year period of the study were novel. Therefore, it could be concluded that research areas that were related with each other in previous years will probably co-occur with other topics in the future might disappear. In every discipline, some topics are considered to be fundamental and research works are being carried out on them almost every year.
