Introduction: Observational articles, as basic studies, in nursing-midwifery are of great importance; however, the quality of these articles has not been investigated, especially from the methodological view. This study endeavored to compare the quality of observational articles of nursing-midwifery journals indexed in Scopus database between the years 2017 and 2021.Methods: In this comparative cross-sectional study, 479 observational articles on nursing and midwifery journals indexed in the Scopus database between the years 2017 and 2021 were reviewed. The data collection instrument was the STROBE checklist methodology section, which recorded the methodological characteristics of the articles reviewed.Results: The average score of the methodology report of all observational studies was 15.10±2.46. The lowest percentage of reports were related to the management of possible bias cases (2.7%) and the method of dealing with incomplete data (5.6%). The average score of the methodology report in the year 2021 is similar to the year 2020 but significantly higher than in the year 2017 to the year 2019; the year 2020 is similar to the year 2019 and higher than the years 2017 and 2018; 2019 was similar to 2018 but higher than 2017 (p < .05).Conclusion: The findings the study can help the editors and reviewers of Iranian nursing and midwifery journals to obtain more knowledge about the favorable characteristics and weaknesses of their journals, which can lead to a change in the policy of accepting articles for publication and improve the quality of their journals. It will also help researchers to report their research results accurately and with higher quality.

Introduction: Co-authorship is one of the examples of scientific collaboration. In scientific collaboration, researchers share their facilities, information, and capabilities to produce high quality works. The purpose of the present study is to analyze the social network structure of co-authoring among Iranian researchers in the field of nursing, from the standpoint of micro and macro indexes of social network analysis.Methods: This was a descriptive and applied study carried out through a scientometrics approach. The study population comprised 2036 records of scientific output by Iranian researchers in the nursing field indexed in the Web of Science Database over the period of 2013-2018.Results: Findings showed that the trend of publishing works on nursing by Iranian researchers was increasing during this period. Furthermore, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University, and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences were the most productive Iranian universities in the field of nursing. On the other hand, a review of the co-authorship network of scientific outputs in the field of nursing from the standpoint of micro indexes showed that Ahmadi, Abbaszadeh, Borhani, Ebadi, and Mohammadi were the most effective authors in this network. According to data retrieved from the Clarivate Analytics of Web of Science Database, these authors were among the most prolific authors in the field. In terms of macro indices, density values of 0.02, clustering coefficient of 1.67, mean distance of 3.175, and network diameter of 7 were obtained for co-authoring network of Iranian scientific outputs in the field of nursing.Conclusion: In terms of scientometric indicators, this network is not sufficiently coherent. In addition, the majority of the collaborations were on a domestic scale and little scientific sharing had been made with foreign researchers.

Introduction: Health care classifications are essential tools for collecting and processing healthrelated information. They also provide a unified language for interdisciplinary communications. Nursing data is important for extension of knowledge, evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing care, and supporting human resource planning. Therefore, an integrated system for collecting, storing and retrieving nursing data is essential. The aim of this research was to compare nursing classification systems. Methods: This was a descriptive-comparative study conducted in 2009. We studied all available classification systems in the world. The systems were found through searching the Internet, books and journals. Results were presented in statistical tables. Results: All systems were American systems developed by persons, associations or universities for specific care facilities. Another classification system has been designed by the International Council of Nursing (ICN) for international use by all nursing care facilities. There were no systems for nursing classification in Iran. Conclusion: Nursing data needs to be uniquely coded for being used in computer systems and Iranian Electronic Health Records. Thus, application or development of a nursing classification system in Iran with the purpose of nursing information management seems necessary.

Introduction: Congruity of values in workplace has a determining effect on personal andorganizational outcomes. On the other hand, nurses provide invaluable services during the difficult times of sickness. The aim of this research was thus to investigate the relationship between personal and professional values among nurses working in hospitals affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran.Methods: In a cross-sectional study, stratified sampling was used to select 103 nurses who were working in hospitals affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences during 2010. Their values were investigated by valid and reliable Rokeach Value Survey (RVS) and the Nursing Professional Values Scale (Weis and Schank). The collected data was analyzed by SPSS16 .Results: Our findings revealed a significant relationship between personal and professional values (P < 0.05). In fact, nurses felt congruity in their important values such as inner harmony with security, loyalty with trust and security, or a world at peace with honesty. In addition, although some personal values like freedom, creativity, obedience, and amnesty were significantly different between men and women (P < 0.05), no significant differences in professional values were observed between the two sexes.Conclusion: Our results showed that a congruity between personal and professional values among nurses. It can be concluded that congruity between personal and professional values would lead to appropriate person-job and person-organization relations.
