Abstract

Introduction: The Internet has quickly become a major player in the quest for information. Researchers readily employ the Internet as a tool for information retrieval because it can provide fast access to vast amounts of information from a multitude of sources. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of the Internet in locating information in Najaf Abad Azad University. Methods: It is a survey study in which data were collected by a questionnaire and were analyzed by SPSS using descriptive statistics. Results: It was revealed that the participants used the Internet at an optimum level to update their knowledge about their research interests. In this regard, they employed data banks most commonly. Conclusion: Internet plays a significant role for researchers to locate information so that they use it for compiling and translating books, writing research proposals doing theses.
