Abstract

Introduction: An ideal society needs to provide health with high quality life and to profit from a healthy environment. To achieve this goal, the health system of the country has compiled a comprehensive scientific health plan. Doing research on investigating study fields in nursing is limited while such studies could be a great step to improve country’s health system. The present study aims at investigating degree of conformity of previous researches in nursing system with country’s comprehensive scientific health plan.Methods: In this descriptive cross sectional study dissertations of MS and PHD degrees were investigated. The study samples were 135 PHD dissertations that were included in the study via counting. The study tool was a checklist to assess dissertations. This checklist was prepared through studying relevant texts. Content validity was determined by Faculty of Nursing. The data was analyzed using SPSS VER. 18 and descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage).Result: Comparing the findings with the comprehensive health plan showed that most of the nursing researches were in care giving field. Besides, the number of studies in the fields of society and person-family were equivalent. In the field of prior studies, the majority of researches were on basic level while the minority was on developmental level.Conclusion: Investigating previous researches in medical universities and their conformity to elements of the comprehensive health plan could be an index to evaluate development of the plan; besides it could be considered as a strategy to conduct previous researches in medical universities.
