Introduction: The impact of research is any type of output of research activities that has a positive return for the scientific community, health systems, patients, and peoples. The impact of research can include various aspects, including impact on health, economy, and policy making in society. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to determine the policy impact of research in the field of health management and policy making of Iran University of Medical Sciences in 2014-2019.Methods: This applied research was carried out by means of a survey and citation analysis of records published in 2014 to 2019. At first, the return on investment questionnaire was completed by the first or corresponding authors. The findings of the questionnaire were analyzed by citation analysis and checking the number of citations in studies. The data analysis was done using SPSS software version 22.Results: Overall, 459 research in health management and policy-making of Iran University of Medical Sciences were identified. These studies have been used in 768 systematic reviews, seven educational content productions, 129 upstream documents, policy briefs, and instructions; three clinical guidelines, six health technology assessments, and six non-health decision-making.Conclusion: The policy impact of research in the field of health management and policy-making was mostly through systematic reviews, upstream documents, policy briefs, and instructions. Therefore, it needs to provide further application of these studies in decision-making outside the health field, clinical decision-making, training contents, on-demand research, health technology assessment.

Introduction: The great interest in cosmetic surgeries and the possible risks of these types of surgeries make it necessary to pay attention to health literacy for the applicants of these types of surgeries in order to evaluate and make correct decisions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the level of health literacy of cosmetic surgery applicantsMethods: The research method is cross-sectional. The research sample includes 189 applicants for cosmetic surgery referring to Hazrat Fatemeh Teaching Hospital in Tehran, and the Iranian Adult Health Literacy Questionnaire (HELIA) was used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics and U-Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis statistical tests were used for data analysis.Results: The average health literacy of the participants was higher than the average of the questionnaire. The highest average is related to the understanding component (85.65) and the lowest average is related to access (76.60). There is a significant relationship between the average level of health literacy of women and men in the dimension of understanding and the average of health literacy. Also, there is a significant relationship between the level of health literacy and the level of education. Applicants with a higher education degree also have a higher level of health literacy. Also, the most sources of obtaining health information for applicants is the Internet (40.74 percent).Conclusion: Although according to the results of the research, the health literacy level of the cosmetic surgery applicants was above average, but it is necessary to provide the necessary training on promoting health literacy among different groups, especially people with low literacy levels. Also, it is necessary to provide valid educational and advertising brochures in health and treatment centers for applicants

Introduction: With the leap in the development of information technology and social media, seeking health information online has become popular. This study endeavors to provide an analysis of users 'health-seeking information behavior in the web environment, based on Bates' developed model.Methods: This applied study has been done by an analytical survey method. The data collection instrument was an online researcher-made questionnaire (sensitive to the differentiation of respondents) developed with inspiration from the research by Dow and her colleagues, which was enacted by 10 Faculty members of Iranian universities of medical sciences. The sample consisted of 72 individuals with bachelor's degrees and higher who were selected by volunteer sampling method. Non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman tests were used.Results: Approximately, 48% of the members of the research sample had a "scrutinizing" approach to their health question and 31% had a "direct and active (searching)" approach according to Bates' developed information model. These two information-seeking approaches were more prevalent (compared to "engineering" and "basic sciences" disciplines) among those who had worked or studied in the field of "social sciences and humanities" for at least one year .There was a significant difference between "occupation" and "online health information-seeking behavior based on the Bates' model". However, there was no significant difference between "age" and "level of education" and their health information-seeking behavior (March 2022).Conclusion: Dow's model (based on the Bates developed seeking information model) can be used and be efficient in the health research to analyze the information seeking behavior of different groups.

Introduction: Developing strategic planning in libraries depends on identifying different dimensions of its activities and services. In this research we proposing a lens for strategic planning in libraries of Iran medical science universities.Methods: After adopting a qualitative survey design, 21 academic library managers were interviewed. Snowball sampling method was used to select the Samples and the data analysis was done using the thematic analysis method by MAXQDA 10.Results: The study revealed nine main themes and over 54 sub-themes. Resources and librarian specialists identified as an important libraries property. Customer expectations, The Mission of Upstream Organizations and Current Status of Library Performance were identified as three factors influencing the formulation of library missions. In libraries, for drawing up perspectives, the most important issue was the available facilities and services. Considering the librarians' professional ethics and user feedback from most interviewees, it was raised as a value for the library. The majority of interviewees considered Up-to-date services to be important strategic goals and stated that if they had the necessary delegation of responsibility, they would be able to formulate better goals. The most important environmental factors affecting strategic planning referred to modern information and communication technologies, lack of librarian’s motivation, participate in educational and research programs and lack of human resources in libraries.Conclusion: Strategic planning for each library was different from others. But, attention to the Common influential factors and used of proposed integrated framework in this study can be facilitate strategic planning.

Introduction: Recently, cancer has become one of the most dangerous diseases in the world due to environmental reasons. This study endeavored to analyze and map the scientific cooperation network of researchers in blood and oncology research centers.Methods: This descriptive study was performed with a scientometric approach using network analysis. The population of the research included documents produced by researchers of hematology and oncology research centers in Iran, which were indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database until the end of the academic year 2019.Results: Tehran and Mazandaran Universities of Medical Sciences had the most cooperation compared with their counterparts by producing 100 joint documents. The highest international cooperation was allocated to the United States (US), Italy, the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, and Australia. Besides, international articles with an average citation of 41.75 were significantly more considered and referred than national documents (with an average citation of 7.45) (P < 0.001). The study of the correlation between the number of citations and the number of partner countries also showed a significant positive and moderate relationship between these two variables (r = 0.353, P < 0.001).Conclusion: Academic collaborations, especially at the international level, have a positive effect on the citation of scientific documents. Therefore, the attention of research policymakers and researchers to this issue can help increase the publication quality of scientific articles.

Introduction: This study endeavored to investigate citations to the Iranian English medical journals in Wikipedia.Methods: This descriptive study was conducted based on citation analysis and scientometric techniques. The population included 282 English journals approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The full title, acronym, and abbreviated title of each journal were searched on Wikipedia and Google (site search), and data analysis was conducted through the Excel software.Results: Wikipedia articles cited to 114 journals were approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. These journals received 1091 citations. Among which, the journal of Archives of Iranian Medicine has received the most citations from Wikipedia articles. Journals in the field of medical profession received the most citations among journals approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Furthermore, 412 Wikipedia articles were in English. Among the Wikipedia articles, articles in the plant category have cited more to journals approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education.Conclusion: Iranian medical journals, by improving their popularization policies and strategies can be recognized internationally in terms of article citation and science popularization of science. In view of this, science policymakers should pay more attention to the relationship between universities and scientific journals with the public, especially Wikipedia, to generalize and popularize the science and scientific information.

Introduction: Human resource management in libraries and medical information centers can play an important role in the branding process, which has received less attention so far. This study endeavored to identify the characteristics and role of librarians, as an important pillar of human resources, in branding Iranian medical libraries and information centers.Methods: This applied study employed qualitative content analysis method. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a purposeful sample of 14 managers of Iranian libraries and medical information centers.Results: Three major concepts, including cognitive, professional, and communication skills, 8 components and 28 codes related to the role and characteristics of librarians in branding libraries and medical information centers were identified. Conclusion: The managers of libraries and medical information centers should have sufficient sensitivity and planning to attract, select, and trigger librarians towards branding.

Introduction: 360-degree feedback seems to be a more comprehensive view of appraising capabilities, behavior, competence, and performance of individuals in the organization than other methods of performance appraisal. This study endeavored to appraise librarians’ performance in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, through 360-degree feedback.Methods: This study conducted by a survey-analysis methodology. The population consisted of 43 librarians, 43 superiors, 43 colleagues, and 80 users; accordingly, census sampling method was employed. Each librarian was assessed by one supervisor, all colleagues, two users, and a self-assessment questionnaire was filled by each librarian. The data was collected by pre-prepared questionnaires by Farajpahlou et al. To analyze the data. This study employed the Student's t, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Duncan, analysis of variance tests.Results: Librarians’ performance in total (4.37), and status of their performance in moral-value (4.47), functional (4.37), and process (4.34) skills were higher than average level. There was no significant difference between the results of four groups in the moral-value index and functional skills, but there was a significant difference between the users and other assessors in the process skills.Conclusion: Given the low mean in the process index, it seems necessary to take effective steps by librarians to improve communication with users. These results could be used by managers and librarians to identify the strengths and weaknesses of librarians’ performance.

Introduction: One of the main functions of the health system is to provide quality services. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of any organization, and is the ultimate goal of any organizational strategy. Patient satisfaction is a concept that has become very important in medical care today, and plays an important role in the health care process. Measuring the quality of services is a basic precondition for improving quality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of services, using the analysis of the importance of performance in comprehensive health service centers.Methods: This study was a descriptive survey, and its statistical population included all people with hypertension under the auspices of Pakdasht Comprehensive Health Service Centers (under the auspices of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences), Tehran, Iran. 320 people aged 30 years and older with hypertension were selected using classical systematic two-stage cluster sampling method. To compare the difference between mean performance and importance, t-test with a significance level of 95% was used.Results: There was a significant difference between importance and performance in all dimensions. (P < 0.050). Dimensions of respect (2.89%), continuation of service (2.68%), access and trust (2.57%), importance and proportions of authority (2.72%), access and trust (2.33%), and safety and prevention (2.19%) had the highest level of performance. The average importance of the requested services to people with hypertension was 70%, and the average performance of the received services was 59%. Overall, the quality of care provided to people with hypertension was low.Conclusion: It seems that there is a large gap between the expectations of patients with hypertension from services and their perceptions of services received (i.e., performance). All dimensions of quality show that quality improvement in all dimensions is necessary. The results of this study can be useful in health policies to promote the quality of service delivery.

Introduction: When a website has an appropriate information architecture, it can be efficient and successful in responding to the information needs of users. The present study aims to evaluate website of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran, based on information architecture.Methods: This was a descriptive-survey study performed on Shiraz University of Medical Sciences website. Data collection and analysis were carried out by direct observation method using checklists for four subsystems of information architecture, namely organization, labeling, navigation, and search.Results: The overall organization of the website was based on the organization chart. The site navigation system showed the users which website they were navigating, but it did not explicitly show all the navigated levels. Although the search system displayed the total number of search results to the user and highlighted the input query in the retrieved content, many of its features as logical operators, auto-complete or auto-suggestions, and sorting search results were not active.Conclusion: The website is relatively poor from the information architecture standpoint. The search and organization dimensions were weak, and the labeling and navigation dimensions were mediocre. The results of continuous evaluation and study of the website information architecture can be used to optimize the website design while highlighting the existing weaknesses and shortcomings.

Introduction: Health is the greatest asset of individuals, and choosing a destination to improve individuals' health is an important process requires consideration of various factors. This study attempted to identify and rank the factors related to the development of health tourism.Methods: To conduct this descriptive-survey study, 25 health tourists who traveled to Yazd Province, Iran, were randomly selected and interviewed. Data and scenarios were analyzed using fuzzy cognitive mapping technique, and the research model was developed using social network analysis.Results: To develop health tourism, there were several factors involved such as the factors of financial resources, security, marketing system, and information, respectively; as they were more central.Conclusion: The results reveal that by implementing strategies to increase market share of competitors, reduce treatment costs, facilitate the conditions for obtaining a medical visa in the shortest possible time, it seems possible to increase the number of tourists, reduce Iran phobia, and increase security.

Introduction: Guilan Province, Iran, owning the advantages of tourism based on its nature, has the potential to develop healthy ecologies. This study endeavored to identify and introduce the suitable areas of these resorts in Guilan.Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, a pairwise comparison questionnaire was developed and administered to 15 nature specialists, owners of ecotourism resorts, tour guides, and nature guides, as well as tourism professors who were selected using purposeful accessible sampling method. To prioritize susceptible areas, VIKOR model was employed.Results: As a result of examining environmental indicators and based on the overlapping of output maps in Geographic Information System (GIS) environment, 18 potential zones were identified in Guilan and using VIKOR model, prioritization of identified zones was done to develop studies and planning of these tourist destinations. Zone No. 9, located in the geographical area of Rasht City with the least distance from the ideal solution (0.054), zone No. 6, in the geographical area of Parhosar and Rezvanshahr with a numerical score of 0.059, and zone No. 11 in the geographical area of Siahkal and Lahijan with a score of 0.064, were in the first to third priorities of planning and development of health ecologies, respectively.Conclusion: Capitalizing on areas prone to construction and sustainable development of health ecologies in Guilan Province has differentiated the province's tourism market, and can foster a new competitive advantage in the tourism sector.

Introduction: Supply chain management (SCM) is one of the management approaches to provide products and services to users in a timely manner. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors related to health tourism supply chain in Yazd, Iran using structural equation modeling (SEM).Methods: This was a descriptive study. To collect the data, a survey approach was used that included the opinions of health experts and tourists. To develop the survey instrument, library studies and Delphi method were used, which according to the experts, 37 final factors were used to design the questionnaire. Ensuring the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, 330 health tourists in Yazd were solicited through the survey. Using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), 7 major components were extracted and named based on items; this way, a structural model of the study was formed, which was fitted in the process of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and the significance of the components was confirmed.Results: According to the amount of variance explained, the standards of medical service centers with 32.358, information technology with 14.696, banking with 7.63, attractions with 5.48, international standards with a value of 4.612, the diversity of health services with a value of 2.820, and government programs with a value of 1.952, respectively, had the most significant effect on the health tourism supply chain in Yazd.Conclusion: The final output of this study was a measurement model of health tourism supply chain in Yazd Province, in which the factors were categorized and suggestions were made to improve the factors.

Introduction: Co-authorship is one of the examples of scientific collaboration. In scientific collaboration, researchers share their facilities, information, and capabilities to produce high quality works. The purpose of the present study is to analyze the social network structure of co-authoring among Iranian researchers in the field of nursing, from the standpoint of micro and macro indexes of social network analysis.Methods: This was a descriptive and applied study carried out through a scientometrics approach. The study population comprised 2036 records of scientific output by Iranian researchers in the nursing field indexed in the Web of Science Database over the period of 2013-2018.Results: Findings showed that the trend of publishing works on nursing by Iranian researchers was increasing during this period. Furthermore, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University, and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences were the most productive Iranian universities in the field of nursing. On the other hand, a review of the co-authorship network of scientific outputs in the field of nursing from the standpoint of micro indexes showed that Ahmadi, Abbaszadeh, Borhani, Ebadi, and Mohammadi were the most effective authors in this network. According to data retrieved from the Clarivate Analytics of Web of Science Database, these authors were among the most prolific authors in the field. In terms of macro indices, density values of 0.02, clustering coefficient of 1.67, mean distance of 3.175, and network diameter of 7 were obtained for co-authoring network of Iranian scientific outputs in the field of nursing.Conclusion: In terms of scientometric indicators, this network is not sufficiently coherent. In addition, the majority of the collaborations were on a domestic scale and little scientific sharing had been made with foreign researchers.

Introduction: Considering the necessity of selecting and appointing hospital managers as one of the important goals of the health system, this study aimed to investigate the feasibility of establishing a surrogacy system with regard to meritocracy among the managers of hospital affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran, in year 2019.Methods: The present study was descriptive survey. 102 managers of educational treatment centers, hospitals, and health-treatment networks, and human resources managers were selected using convenient sampling method. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity and reliability (Cronbach's alpha > 0.7) of the questionnaires were confirmed. Data was analyzed using one-sample t-test.Results: The possibility of establishing a surrogacy system with competency approach in terms of existence and recognition of required competencies, the status of training and improvement, and performance evaluation and compensation was moderate among hospital managers. It was not possible to establish a surrogacy system with a competency approach from the perspective of planning and development, recruitment method, and the status of welfare services and maintenance among hospital managers.Conclusion: According to these results, it is necessary for health system policymakers to pay attention to competencies in hospital substitute managers in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness in hospitals.

Introduction: Ideational influence and social influence are among the indicators of scientometrics used to evaluate scientific publications. This study aimed to evaluate and analyze the scientific publications of Iranian researchers in the field of myocardial ischemic diseases indexed in the Scopus citation database.Methods: The present applied study was conducted through the scientometrics indicators of ideational and social influence. This study also employed the social network analysis to depict a co-author network. The statistical population included 6908 Iranian articles in the field of myocardial ischemic diseases in Scopus database from 2008 to 2017. Bibexcel, Pajek, and Vosviewer were used to analyze the data.Results: Indicators of social influence showed that the average degree of the centrality of myocardial ischemic diseases in Iran was 104.084, the average of the betweenness centrality was 0.061, and the average of the closeness centrality was 0.258. Analysis of the data related to the indicators of intellectual influence revealed that the H, G, and HC indices were 85, 62, and 167, respectively.Conclusion: Despite the fact that quality of publications in the field of myocardial ischemic diseases in Iran is not acceptable, the number of publications in this field is growing. The level of scientific collaboration is not acceptable as well. Conducting scientometrics studies in various fields of medical sciences using indicators such as ideational influence and social influence, and publicizing the results can make medical scientists aware of the real situation and position of their specialty around the world. Awareness of the results of scientific collaboration studies as well as the researchers’ studies introduces active and productive international scientists in the fields of scientific collaboration and the publication of more useful articles.

Introduction: Health care reform affects the hospital activities from various ways. According to the important effect of insurance bill deductions on hospitals revenue, this study was aimed to compare the deductions from the insurance bills of Alzahra hospital affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran, before and after of health care reform.Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was carried out by examining data about insurance bill deductions among 50288 and 51699 inpatient cases in 2013 and 2015, respectively, in Alzahra hospital covered by Social Security Insurance Organization and Health Services Insurance. To data collection, information technology (IT) staff reports and Health Information System reports were used and exported to electronic files. Data were analyzed using t and paired t tests at a significant level of 0.05.Results: The ratio of deductions to total hospital income significantly reduced in 2015 compared to 2013 (P = 0.010). This significant reduction was seen in visiting, anesthesia, surgery, bed-day costs, and para-clinic services. There was a significant increase in load of para-clinic, consulting, anesthesia, surgery, and total services.Conclusion: Insurance bill deductions in Alzahra hospital decreased after health care reform. The most rate of deductions referred to para-clinic services of Social Security Insurance Organization; that was because of great load of documents of this organization or inequity of patients covered by different insurers. Introduction: Today, worldwide tourism is of great importance to countries, and health tourism is one of the new and developing types of tourism in the world. Due to the importance of wellness tourism, this study aimed at identifying the major factors associated with the length of stay of wellness tourists in Sarein, Iran.Methods: The study was applied in terms of purpose and exploratory in nature, and qualitative in terms of approach. In this study, data from interviews with 19 people including tourism experts and wellness tourists of Sarein were analyzed using the content analysis method.Results: In data analysis, 56 basic codes were extracted from all interviews, and finally these concepts, were categorized into eight groups of personal and demographic, psychological, cost, psychological, hygienic and health, diversity of tourism services, tourism acceptance capacity, quality of service, and infrastructure capabilities and facilities of the destination.Conclusion: Based on the results, organizations related to Sarein tourism should consider the factors identified in this study to increase the length of stay of wellness tourists.

Introduction: Studying the growth of scientific outputs in different subject areas can be one of the foundations of scientific policymaking in that field. Systematic reviews are of the main research outputs in medical sciences, and they are finding more applications. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the growth trend of these articles in the field of biomedicine.Methods: The present study was carried out using documentary method; and in the process of systematic review of biomedical articles, the distribution of scientific products by language was assessed. The statistical society consisted of all systematic review articles by Iranian researchers in biomedical fields. 350 Persian articles were recovered and analyzed from the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) and Scientific Information Database (SID), as well as 2595 English articles from Scopus database.Results: The average growth rate of systematic reviews in biomedical sciences by Iranian researchers was increasing; so that the approximate growth rate was 0.06 (6%) and 0.21 (21%) in Persian and in English articles, respectively, indicating that the growth rate of Latin articles was three and a half times that of Persians. The most widely cited Persian language journal was the Iranian Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Infertility with 46 articles, and that of English language was the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention with 58 articles.Conclusion: Iranian systematic review articles in the field of biomedicine have grown in recent years, and English-language journals are the main outlets for publishing such articles.

Introduction: Many cities in Iran have specialized human resources and appropriate medical facilities, and have the potential to attract tourists. What is essential in realizing these capacities is the recognition of tourists' mental image of the potentials of therapeutic tourism destinations. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the development of therapeutic tourism.Methods: The study was a descriptive survey in Tehran, Iran, during summer and autumn of 2018 and winter of 2019. First, 38 factors influencing the development of therapeutic tourism were identified, and then by Delphi method, 34 factors were identified for formulating a questionnaire. With the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, a sample of 432 health tourists in Tehran with a history of frequent referral were selected randomly. Data analysis was performed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis methods.Results: By factor analysis, six main components were identified as factors affecting the development of therapeutic tourism. The factors affecting the development of tourism were as the quantity of health services (human resources and facilities available), quality of health services, living conditions, amenities and tourism, socio-cultural characteristics, advertising, and information.Conclusion: Despite the importance of quantity and quality of health services, due to the increasing demand for travel, patients traveling to receive treatment need more services, and consider the level of service development in different aspects. One-dimensional attention to the expansion of health care cannot guarantee the development of this type of tourism, and the supply of other tourist needs, such as recreation, favorable living conditions, and pleasant memories, is a sufficient condition for development.

Introduction: The purpose of this research was to determine the challenges of writing and publishing of health scientific articles from the viewpoint of the faculty members of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran.Methods: In this survey, the statistical population consisted of 250 faculty members of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences who were selected using stratified random sampling method. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. Its validity confirmed by experienced researchers, and its reliability was determined to be 0.98, using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data were analyzed using one-sample t test.Results: Among 6 categories, professional, personal, and facility challenges with mean of 3.05, 3.00, and 2.98 were very important. However, socio-cultural challenge with mean of 2.41 was the least important place.Conclusion: The research policymakers in Iran's universities of medical sciences can consider this challenges, and help to establish evidence-based practice and evidence-based medicine.

Introduction: Organizational citizenship behavior is an effective factor in the performance of organizations. This study determined organizational citizenship behavior among nurses in hospitals in Tehran City, Iran.Methods: This survey study was performed on 200 nurses in hospitals in Tehran City. Data were collected using library resources and a standard questionnaire (α = 0.77). The data were then analyzed using independent t test.Results: There was no statistically significant difference between nurses in state and non-governmental hospitals.Conclusion: In Tehran City, nurses' organizational citizenship behavior was desirable, and there was no difference in organizational citizenship behavior among nurses in state and private hospitals.

Introduction: Mammography is the cornerstone of breast cancer screening and early detection. This study was conducted to investigate the status of digital mammography facilities in Isfahan City, Iran, in terms of equipment and physical-quality requirements, to offer solutions to improve the current situation.Methods: In this descriptive study, all 15 active digital mammography facilities (DMF) in Isfahan City were visited by a medical physicist. Data were collected using a researcher-made checklist including 40 items and topics of calibration, general condition of equipment, dosimetry, quality of images, and printers. Instructions and quality control reports of devices were evaluated and compared with the guidelines of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).Results: All the DMFs passed the standards of AEOI. The most important problem was that in majority of DMFs, the diagnosis room was not equipped with standard medical monitors or these monitors were not utilized. The differences between evaluated resolution measures of the device with results reported by quality control companies, lack of attention to expiration dates of received films by operator, lack of phantom for periodic calibration by operator, lack of attention to mean glandular dose and surface dose indicator, and printing four images on one film were the other observed problems.Conclusion: It is recommended to pay more attention to installation and operational standards of the equipment and conduct periodic surveys of DMFs. Moreover, equipping the centers with the diagnostic rooms is essential. Although all the medical imaging centers are obliged to conduct annual quality control tests on their equipment by qualified companies, investigating DMFs revealed that these quality control tests are not sufficient.

Introduction: Assessment of the citations to scientific researches and journals by invention patents is a way to analyze the relationship between the science and technology. The purpose of this research was to investigate citations to English-language journals approved by Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education in patents registered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) database.Methods: This descriptive survey was conducted based on citation analysis and scientometrics techniques. The study population included 268 English-language journals approved by the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The title of each journal was used to search at the USPTO database.Results: 207 patents cited to 49 English-language journals approved by Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical. Note that 65% of patents in this group were in the class A (i.e., human necessities). Most patents citing Iranian medical journals belonged to the United States, and were assigned by Stanford University.Conclusion: Iranian journals, using the necessary processes and strategies according to their policies, can have a better internationally position in terms of article status and being technology-centered. Therefore, due to the increasing publication rate of articles in the country, their quality should be considered (focused on) more than quantity.

Introduction: Considering the importance of health domain and proposed policies in the comprehensive scientific health plan, this study aimed to investigate the convergence of subjects in Iranian scientific productions in the field of health.Methods: For data analysis in this review article, co-occurrence analysis of vocabulary and drawing a scientific map and social network analysis methods were used. The study population included all scientific productions in the field of health indexed in the Scopus database during the years 2007-2016, which contained a total of 8616 documents. Results: The largest share of science production among the subdomains of the health was observed in the field of sports science. In terms of convergence and proximity, the topics of physical therapy, and sports therapy and rehabilitation were convergent with all the constituents of health domain, which suggested that this area included the concepts from other constituent areas of the health domain. The highest degree of convergence in terms of common concepts was observed between physical therapy, sports therapy and rehabilitation, and radiological and ultrasound technology. Finally, the results of conceptual maps showed 3 thematic convergence clusters in the field of health.Conclusion: There are a number of sub-areas of health that have a thematic or content convergence, indicating common concepts between them. Therefore, this study help the specialists in this field to create interdisciplinary fields or new research fronts between the areas with higher convergence.
