Introduction: Productivity is one of the indicators for assessing the status quo regarding use of production factors, including financial resources, and the health management systems, especially hospitals, are no exception. This study endeavored to evaluate the financial productivity of social security hospitals in Iran using the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI).Methods: This study was a survey research. To calculate the MPI in all social security hospitals during 2015 to 2018, initially, through interviews with 10 experts in this field, the most important criteria for evaluating financial productivity in hospitals were identified (10 criteria). Seeing as the specified criteria had some special features, they required mathematical modeling; in such a way that some of these criteria were uncontrollable and others were among the undesirable criteria. The proposed mathematical model was a network data envelopment analysis (DEA) model with correct input and output, fixed input, and undesirable output for use in calculating the MPI.Results: The calculation of financial productivity of hospitals was possible using MPI and DEA method with the help of 10 main criteria including personnel cost, administrative cost, cost of transfer payments, number of active beds, cost of physicians’ benefits and perks, cost of staff’s motivational benefits and perks, the amount of invoices for hospitalized patients, the amount of invoices for outpatients, the sum of medical functions, and the number of days of hospitalization. The results confirmed those obtained in the previous studies. Conclusion: Knowing the financial productivity of hospitals during different periods can lead to the optimal allocation of financial resources to increase the financial productivity of hospitals.

Introduction: During health crises, such as Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the spread of fake news and rumors makes it difficult to distinguish real news. Besides, despite dangers, some endanger public safety by avoiding vaccination. It is not clear to what extent the individuals understand the dangers, and are influenced by the fake news. To elucidate the causes of this risky behavior, this study examined the role of fake news detection and risk perception in vaccine acceptance among students of Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. Methods: Research method was survey, and research tool was a combined electronic questionnaire, including vaccine acceptance questionnaire of Montagni et al., fake news detection, developed by the researcher, and the risk perception questionnaire of Champion. The sampling method was voluntary. 382 students from Shiraz University (academic year of 2021-2022) answered the questionnaire. Data were analyzed through chi-square and binary logistic regression tests. Results: 72.0% of students were vaccine acceptant, and 62.8% had a moderate risk perception regarding the disease. Although the students' demographic characteristics and risk perception showed no significant correlation with the vaccine acceptance, their ability to detect fake news had a significant positive correlation. In effect, the participants with higher fake news detection scores were 0.8 times less likely to be classed in the vaccine hesitant group, compared to the vaccine acceptance ones. Conclusion: Acceptance of fake news about COVID-19 vaccine may reduce the vaccine acceptance. This finding highlights the key role of fake news detection literacy in controlling the behavior of individuals, and thus the safety of society.

Introduction: Recently, cancer has become one of the most dangerous diseases in the world due to environmental reasons. This study endeavored to analyze and map the scientific cooperation network of researchers in blood and oncology research centers. Methods: This descriptive study was performed with a scientometric approach using network analysis. The population of the research included documents produced by researchers of hematology and oncology research centers in Iran, which were indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database until the end of the academic year 2019.Results: Tehran and Mazandaran Universities of Medical Sciences had the most cooperation compared with their counterparts by producing 100 joint documents. The highest international cooperation was allocated to the United States (US), Italy, the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, and Australia. Besides, international articles with an average citation of 41.75 were significantly more considered and referred than national documents (with an average citation of 7.45) (P < 0.001). The study of the correlation between the number of citations and the number of partner countries also showed a significant positive and moderate relationship between these two variables (r = 0.353, P < 0.001).Conclusion: Academic collaborations, especially at the international level, have a positive effect on the citation of scientific documents. Therefore, the attention of research policymakers and researchers to this issue can help increase the publication quality of scientific articles.
