Introduction: The balanced scorecard (BSC) is a performance measurement tool for managers to obtain a comprehensive overview of their company’s performance. The purpose of this study was to integrate BSC with Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique (MACBETH) for performance measurement in Noor-Ali Asghar Hospital, Isfahan, Iran. Methods: This applied, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was carried out in Noor-Ali Asghar Hospital in 2015. The study population included matrons, educational supervisors, and nursing managers of the hospital. The subjects were selected using stratified random sampling method. Data collection tool was the paired comparisons questionnaire which has an acceptable validity. According to MACBETH, each decision maker specified attractiveness difference of BSC perspective indicators and comments were merged through arithmetic mean. Weights of indicators were identified by M-MACBETH software and the weight of each perspective of the BSC was calculated in Excel environment. Results: The results show that, among the BSC perspectives, customer perspective, and among all indicators, employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction, respectively, had the greatest importance. Conclusion: This present study aimed to resolve the defects of BSC in prioritization of perspectives by integrating BSC with MACBETH. Attention to priorities of BSC perspectives in evaluating performance helps managers to improve performance by focusing on perspectives with higher priority and implementing programs to improve employee and customer satisfaction.

Introduction: Web2 has affected libraries and their services. Libraries require this technology in order to improve the quality of their services. The aim of this study was to determine the challenges of applying Web2 in libraries of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Methods: The current cross-sectional survey was carried out in 2015. The study population consisted of 60 librarians in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by specialists, and its reliability was determined using Cronbach’s alpha (α = 0.88). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test and Pearson correlation) in SPSS software. Results: The results showed that among the factors influencing the use of Web2 technologies, "factors related to users" had the highest mean (3.9), followed by "factors related to the librarians" and “infrastructural and cultural factors" with a mean of 3.5.Conclusion: The findings indicated the librarians’ lack of familiarity with the use of Web2 technologies. Thus, training can play a role in librarians’ familiarity with Web2 and using such tools in library services.

Introduction: Due to the capabilities of alternative metrics and their speed in evaluating scientific outputs, and the importance of social media in establishment of scholarly communication and findings’ dissemination, the aim of this study was to investigate the use of social media by medical informatics researchers, and identify top articles based on altmetric score and the association between altmetrics and citation indicators. Methods: The current descriptive research was conducted through scientometrics method and using altmetrics data. The study population consisted of medical informatics articles which were published in 2014 in four core journals, had digital object identifier (DOI), and were indexed in Web of Science. To collect alternative indicators, each individual article was matched by altmetric.com manually. Spearman correlation was used for analyzing data. Results: Mendeley, Twitter, Facebook, CiteULike, Blog, News Outlet, and Google Plus were the most used social media by medical informatics scholars for sharing scientific outputs. The results revealed statistically significant relations between most alternative metrics and the number of citations in Web of Science. Conclusion: Social media can have a positive impact on the citation rate of articles. Therefore, medical informatics researchers can make use of social media in order to better search information on the internet and increase the citation to their scientific productions. For this purpose, they share their work in various social media.
