Abstract
Introduction. Direct and rapid access to information is the main necessities of users in new technological world. Currently information users, especially medical information that rapid access is vital, do not have enough time to search and get access to information. So it is essential to use solutions to present their needed information in rapid time.Methods. This research use library, content analysis, and system design methods in different sections of the research. Findings help researcher to propose a solution for integrating content and services in Iranian medical university library applications. In fact, central libraries of Iranian medical universities, which listed in the ministry of health and medical education, are made research focus group. In order to survey, describe, and analyzing findings, analytical statistics is used. So Excel software is used for this purpose.Results. Findings of this research demonstrate that no one of research focus group and also their used library applications do not care of integration and do not share their bibliographic and also digital data with other academic libraries. Studied libraries in 71.4 percent are use Pars Azarakhsh application. The mentioned application use MARC metadata format. Also in 86 percent the applications could offer standard extraction metadata format.Conclusion. Regarding to findings of this research, it is possible to use integration solutions in order to exploit the existing data. Therefore, the studied libraries should integrate their bibliographic data. In this way, it is proposed to use federated model, Z39.50 protocol and ISO 2709 standard to integrate their data.Keywords. Libraries; Systems Integration; Knowledge Management
