The Relationship between Knowledge Sharing and Academic Quality Improvement from the Viewpoints of Faculty Members at Isfahan Selected Universities

Universities and centers of higher education as the most important knowledge-based organizations can improve their academic quality by ...  Read More Introduction:Today, process of knowledge sharing is one of the most important strategies for the development and deployment of knowledge management in organizations . Universities and centers of higher education as the most important knowledge-based organizations can improve their academic quality by achieving this important capability, i.e. knowledge sharing . The purpose of this research was to evaluate the structural equation modeling of knowledge sharing upon academic quality improvement from the viewpoints of faculty members at Isfahan selected Universities, Iran.Methods: The research method was descriptive and correlational type . The statistical population consisted of 1472 faculty members of Isfahan selected Universities from wich a sample size of 177 was chosen through stratified random sampling . In order to collect data, the 10-item knowledge sharing questionnaire and a 30-item academic quality improvement  questionnaire were used. The questionnaires validity was confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis  and  their Cronbach alpha coefficient was estimated 0.87 and 0.95 respectively . The analysis of data with using of SPSS16  and Amos18 software were performed .Results: The findings(correlation coefficient) revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between knowledge sharing and academic quality improvement (p> 0.01) . Also there is positive and significant relationship between knowledge sharing (knowledge donating and knowledge collecting) and academic quality improvement components (p> 0.01). The results from a structural equation modeling approach show that Knowledge sharing has a positive and significant impact on academic quality improvement . In other words, knowledge sharing predicts and explains %35 of academic quality improvement variance.Conclusion: Universities and centers of higher education can assure and advance their academic quality improvement by development and deployment of knowledge sharing culture.Keywords: Knowledge Management; Quality Improvement; Universities.

Methods: In this study, the study population consisted of 44 subjects (employed in academic libraries of medical sciences) who were randomly selected. The data collection tools were two questionnaires one of which was to measure emotional intelligence skills based on interpersonal subscale of Bar-on emotional intelligence questionnaire, and the second one was based on researcher-made information questionnaire, in order to evaluate the virtual reference skills. The reafter, the collected data were studied and analyzed via central indices and dispersion (scattering) of descriptive statistics and statistical tests of parametric single sample-t and t for independent group as well as Pearson correlation coefficient and step by step multiple regression. Results: The findings of the study showed a significant correlation between the emotional intelligence factors and the related subscales with virtual reference skills. Conclusion: The regression analysis results showed that empathy skills can foretell and adapt the virtual reference skills in librarians.   Introduction: Management is a specialized science and most of the health managers are not familiar with scientific management methods and direct their organization on the basis of their own experiences and assumptions, it is necessary to devise comprehensive educational programs according to the results ...  Read More Introduction: Management is a specialized science and most of the health managers are not familiar with scientific management methods and direct their organization on the basis of their own experiences and assumptions, it is necessary to devise comprehensive educational programs according to the results of needs assessment in order to promote the quality of health care services. Materials and methods: The health network managers, deputy managers, health care assistants, the managers of rural and urban care centers of nineteen health networks in Isfahan province were selected. To evaluate their educational needs, the researcher asked them to fill in questionnaire. Results: The majority of the managers (54%) were between 25 to 35 years old. Most of them (34.7%) had between five to nine years of service and 59% worked as manages between one to four years. 52% did not receive any training and 30% had participated in training courses. They mostly required executive (48.5%) and planning (46%) skills. There was a meaningful relationship between years of management services and all aspects of management skills. Discussion: Since the years of management services are related to all management skills, the level of experience can influence the individual’s skills. The years of service affect the executive skills and participation in training courses affect the planning quality. Key words: Needs assessment, health care management.

And every library must adjust itself with the increasing development. Therefore in order to effectively provide their users with sufficient information, university library managers must examine job-satisfaction of librarians in Esfahan University and Esfahan University of Medical Sciences. Materials and methods: This is a survey study in which 150 librarians holding post-diploma participated. They worked in 19 Esfahan University of Medical Sciences libraries and 9 Esfahan University libraries. The data were collected by minesuta standard job-satisfaction questionnaire. Results: The mean of satisfaction about welfare, educational and promotional facilities in the workplace was greater for the librarians in Esfahan University of Medical Sciences was more than that of their colleagues in Esfahan University. This study intends to compare the quality of recording information in ...  Read More Introduction: The information recorded in medical sheets can help us facilitate the treatment process, recognize the quality of performance of the medical staff, plan health care programs and make accurate and appropriate decisions. This study intends to compare the quality of recording information in admission and summary sheets of three hospitals in Isfahan in the first six months of 1381. Materials and methods: This is retrospective study in which the information recorded in the admission and summary forms of 571 in-patients in three hospital in Isfahan were descriptively examined in seven checklists. Results: The private hospital enjoyed the highest frequency of recording information in admission and summary sheets. The frequency of recording information in educational and private hospitals was similar. However, the frequency of recorded information in the two hospitals indicated a meaningful difference that in the private hospital. Discussion: The findings reveal that admission and summary sheets are not completely filled in and the responsible authorities must pay due attention to the process of recording medical information in the hospitals.
