Introduction: In spite of the vast improvement in the area of mental health care delivery in this country, very little attention has been given to the mental health registry. Considering the absence of an appropriate national mental health registry system in Iran, The purpose of the present study was to formulate a preliminary model for Mental Health registry in Iran. Methods: In this comparative research the national mental health registry system of the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Iran were analytically reviewed. The data were collected via library sources, websites, and consultation with specialists in and out of the country. The recommendations were provided for mental health registry system in Iran taking the cultural, economical and geographical status of the country under consideration. Results: A six-axis model for a national registry was proposed. The study revealed that in order to optimize the present registry system of Iran, it is necessary to review the goals, structure, data elements, information gathering techniques, registration criteria, present classification of national registration of mental health on the proposed model. Conclusion: The lack of a national mental health registry system in Iran has faced this country with serious problems of control and prevention of the mental health diseases, conducting epidemiological research, developing of policies and strategies for controlling the costs of mental health problems and improving the quality of life of the patients. The proposed model in this research can serve as basis for resolving most of the mental health problems stated in above. Keywords: Mental Health; Information Systems; Management Information Systems.

Introduction: Hematology section provides valuable information for diagnosis and treatment of patients to improve the health of them. In this regard Hematology Information System led to deliver produced information accurately and timely. Present study aimed to analyze the situation of Hematology Information Systems in hospital laboratories. Methods: In this descriptive study, 13 Hematology Information Systems of hospital laboratories in Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences were assessed. Data were gathered through observing and questioning by checklist and questionnaire tools. The questionaire content validity and its reliability were approved. The analysis of data was conducted based on descriptive analysis. Results: 76.92 percent of Hematology Information Systems were semi-mechanized type and others were mechanized. Dividing data to three groups, results showed averagely patient data elements were in 79.4 percent, sample data elements in 93.85 percent, and test data elements in all of the systems. In 87.5 percent of them, processing of data was done by auto-analyzers. In all of the systems, data were gathered by request forms, labels and computers. Communication networks were not used in 76.92 percent of Hematology Information Systems. Only 15.38 percent of them used the statistical softwares for data analysis. Also, only 23.08 percent of systems were applied the communication networks. 80 percent of systems had workers of data gathering, processing and distributing. Conclusion: Mechanized systems can meet the users' needs better; therefore gathering, processing, and information distributing steps were done correctly. Introduction: Standard codes and their descriptions are important tools for research, design, implementation and evaluation of the injury control program and its sub-categories. Methods: In this research the medical records of 735 patients diagnosed with injuries, burns or poisonings from teaching-hospitals of the Iran, Tehran and Shahid Beheshti medical universities (N=22) were selected to be reviewed. The records were selected by systematic sampling and pertained to the first 6 months of 2006. From 33 available hospitals 22 met the criteria to be included in this research. The data were collected via a checklist and direct observation. The validity of the checklist was confirmed by experts. Results: The mean percents for implementing standard codes for injuries were 77.80, 67.64, and 70.11% in teaching-hospitals of the Iran, Tehran and Shahid Beheshti medical universities. For external causes these statistics were 57.80, 70.03, and 62.17% respectively. For burns, the mean percent of implementing standard codes was 55.77 and 58.33% teaching hospitals of the Iran, Tehran and Shahid Beheshti medical universities and for external causes these statistics were 54.17 and 53.33% respectively. The teaching-hospitals of the Tehran University of Medical Sciences did not admit patients with burns and patients with poisonings were only admitted in Loghman hospital from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The mean percent of using standard codes for poisoning was 68.23% in this hospital and for external causes 61.27%. Conclusion: The rate of implementation of standard codes varies among the universities and this condition indicates the need of an intervention program. Introduction: Scientific Production is one of the frequently used measures of research performance of a country, a region or a university. In the present study, the number of approved research projects, congress proceedings, journal articles and books published by the researchers of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2006 were identified and then compared with those of 2005. Methods: We performed the present cross-sectional study by searching medical databases and assessing the related documents produced in the year 2006. Then the results were compared with the same scientific production in 2005. Results: The findings showed 100% increase in published indexed and non-indexed journal articles, a growth of 99% in approved research projects and 94% in congress proceedings in 2006 compared with those in 2005. Conclusion: The study indicated a significant growth in research performance of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences through 2006. Keywords: Research; Databases; Universities.

Introduction: We face with the globalization and increasing development of communication in all aspects nowadays. As a result researchers and specialists should proceed to more communication and scientific collaboration and co- authorship, because specialists can hardly overcome all problems in research process. The main object of this paper is to identify collaboration rate among researchers in Isfahan University of medical sciences' related research center in carrying out research project during 2001-2006. Methods: In this survey, scientometric methods were used. Statistical population was all research projects and researchers and approved research centers of Isfahan University of medical science 2001-2006. The number of projects was 138 and researchers were 617 ones. Data gathered via 2 checklists (planning by specialists) and analyzed in a excel database. Results: The mean of researchers for every project is 4.47- "Mohammad Ali Nilfroosh Zadeh" with 22, "Sedighe Asghari" and "Gholam Ali Naderi" with 19 research projects had the most ones among IUMS related research centers' researchers during 2001-2006. Conclusion: Identifying the activist majors and researchers can help others to get familiar with them and utilize their experience through scientific collaboration. Introduction: It is obvious that self - citation is a part of all citations, but high self - citation rate brings high journal rank and introduce the author as the highly cited author. The purpose this study was to recognize both journal self - citation and author self - citation and find their correlation with impact factor. Methods: Citation analysis was used to conduct the survey. The population includes 34 Persian Journal Citation Report's medical journals with impact factor. Since the study examined journals impact factors in 2005, the citations in 2005 to articles published in 2003 and 2004 were considered and number of self - citations was determined. Data were analyzed using SPSS software and Correlation test. Results: 85% of medical journals publish with 61% self - citation rate. Comparing journal performance, before and after omitting self - citation, it was found that the rank of 6.9% journals descended and the impact factor of 58.6% journals became zero meanwhile the rank of 34.5% journals improved. There was a significant correlation between impact factor and self - citation rate (P = 0.01, r = 0.508). Pearson Correlation Coefficient demonstrated a relationship between impact factor and journal self - citation and author self - citation. There was no significant correlation between impact factor and adjusted impact factor with number of articles. Conclusion: Journals with low impact factor have lower self - citation. It means that self- citation has positive influence on impact factor. With regard to highly used of self - citation (61.5%) and changing of 58% journals' impact factor to zero, the number of self - citation should decrease in medical journals. At this case the journals will obtain their right rank. Consequently, with the increase of self - citation the editorials must change their article submission policy. Introduction: Human resources information management as one of the valuable and modern achievement is the biggest challenge that managers are faced with and there is a deep believe on application and practical execution of modern managerial approaches in human resource area such as European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model can cause performance improvement and organizational efficiency. EFQM presents assessment criteria information system for organization to evaluate organization performance and excellence in quality .The purpose of this study was to implement EFQM model through information system Performa system at Isfahan medical sciences university. Methods: This was an applied and descriptive cross-sectional research. The study population consisted of 32 staff managers and their deputies. Data collection instrument was an approach information performa system. Collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics using SPSS and EFQM software's. Score for each of nine factors according to RADAR logic was calculated. Results: Total score for assessment of human resource management was 516, for empowerment 294, and for results were 222. Percentage score for each of the nine factors was as follows: leadership 61%, policy and strategy 75%, employees 58%, resources and partners 52%, processes 53%, client results 43%, employees results 29%, community results 55%, and key performance results 52%. Conclusion: Performa Information System approach in this model provided a system of information about strength area that needs improwment in human resources management in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences by using RADAR logic for improvement case and change were followed. Introduction: Knowledge management is one of the most important implements for organization's success in data age and competition situations. Nowadays, the notability (importance) of subject is to the extent that some of the organizations measure their available knowledge and reflect these measurements in reports as organization's mental investment and as an index for organization's classification. Organization's viewpoints are gradually turned from national extension to developed human. Medical universities are pioneers for society's health, achievement of modern scientific and investigation results and knowledge management's settlement in organic system have duplicated significance. Methods: Existing research method was a descriptive of measurement type and from scope branch. In this study, statistic society included employees in 7 university staff assistance with diploma educational degree and upper degrees and scientific board members. The number of statistic society's staff was 1268 and among this statistic society 295 units were randomly selected. Results: After assessing the hypothesis of research among sample like knowledge identity, acquisition, expansion, participation and distribution, benefiting and storage, the obtained outcomes display a weak level in every six process of knowledge management and all fields for its settlement in Isfahan University of Medical Science. Conclusion: Nowadays, one of the most important challenges which governmental organizations are confronted is the usage of organic knowledge and its application with modern management's implement such as knowledge management considering right usage which makes the organization put in existing competitions situations and provide their success preliminary.
