Introduction: The use of electronic prescription systems can reduce medical errors and enhance patient safety. The present study aimed to identify and rank the implementation challenges of electronic prescribing from the perspective of service providers in two Social Security hospitals in Qazvin Province.Methods: This mixed-method study was conducted in 2024 in two phases. In the first phase, using a Conventional content analysis approach, 12 service providers were selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants to identify the implementation challenges of electronic prescribing. The collected data were categorized using MAXQDA 2020 software. In the second phase, the TOPSIS technique was applied using Excel 2021 to rank the identified challenges.Results: The findings revealed that the implementation challenges were classified into two main categories: “Infrastructural Issues” and “Performance Issues.” Within the category of infrastructural issues, “Incomplete medical service codes” ranked highest with a relative closeness of 1, while “System update deficiencies” ranked lowest with a relative closeness of 0.241. In the category of performance issues, “Increased time required to work with the system” had the highest rank with a relative closeness of 0.978, whereas “Increased errors in prescription entry” had the lowest rank with a relative closeness of 0.262.Conclusion: Based on the findings, it is recommended that policymakers allocate financial resources to review and revise the defined medical service codes in the system and simplify its processes, in order to improve system performance and enhance service providers’ satisfaction.Keywords: Electronic Prescribing, Challenges, Ranking, TOPSIS

Introduction: Telemedicine is the provision of remote health care by specialists using information and communication technology for better disease management and research. This study aimed to determine the level of physicians' knowledge and attitudes towards telemedicine technology.Methods: This was a descriptive-cross-sectional study conducted in 2024. The statistical population of the study was physicians working in two hospitals in Taft City. Since the number of physicians in both hospitals was 62, sampling was not performed. The data collection tool was a pre-designed standard questionnaire consisting of 6 dimensions and 48 items. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were evaluated by experts (Cronbach's alpha = 87%). After completing the questionnaires, descriptive data analysis was performed using SPSS software.Results: The response rate in this study was 81%. The results showed that although most physicians had low knowledge about this technology (56%) and did not have a positive attitude, most of them had a good understanding of issues related to security (90%) and the ease of using telemedicine technology (72%). Also, they understood the advantages and disadvantages of telemedicine at an average level. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that physicians' knowledge and attitudes towards telemedicine technology are poor. Accordingly, the use of educational interventions to create awareness among physicians is essential.Keywords: Knowledge, understanding, attitude, telemedicine, physicians

Introduction: Human resources play a vital role in delivering quality services within the health system, and evaluating their analytical status impacts performance and productivity and Human resource analytics, through the collection and analysis of employee data, assists managers in making better decisions. The aim of this research is to construct and validate an scale for assessing human resources analytics in the health system.Methods: This research has an applied purpose and utilizes a descriptive-survey method to examine the validity of the scale through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The statistical population comprised 206 managers and experts from the Pole Eight Universities of Medical Sciences, with 132 individuals selected through stratified random sampling and available for the study. Questionnaire items were developed based on a qualitative study, achieving a reliability score of 0.976 using Cronbach's alpha. Hypotheses were tested using SPSS24 and AMOS24, evaluating both the reliability and validity of constructs through CFA.Results: The structural model of human resources analytics comprises 24 sub-components organized into three main components: information system redesign, cultural change, and systemic thinking. The confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the strong fit of the proposed model with the data and the significance of all factor loadings and construct validity was established.Conclusion: The results demonstrate that the human resources analytics scale possesses good validity and reliability, making it an effective tool for enhancing management and decision-making processes in the health system. This scale can be utilized alongside other tools to assess the state of human resources analytics.

Introduction: Patient safety is a serious global challenge and a very important aspect of healthcare quality. Unsafe care and services, in addition to imposing hardship on humans, also incur heavy economic costs. The purpose of this study was to investigate patient safety culture among nurses working at Ayaullah Kashani Educational and Medical Center in Isfahan in 1403.Methods: In this cross-sectional study conducted in 1403, 170 nurses from Ayaullah Kashani Hospital in Isfahan were selected using stratified sampling. Participants completed the demographic questionnaire and the patient safety culture assessment questionnaire. 129 people answered the questionnaires completely. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 26 software. Findings were presented with an error rate of less than 0.05 as statistically significant.Results: Among the 12 dimensions of patient safety culture, expectations and management actions towards patient safety and information exchange and transfer have the highest score, and communication and providing feedback on errors have the lowest score among the dimensions of patient safety culture. There is a significant relationship between the current and desired status of patient safety culture in Ayaullah Kashani Hospital, Isfahan. Patient safety culture was significantly related to working hours of more than 40 hours per week and to educational qualifications.Conclusion: In line with the main mission of hospitals, which is to provide effective and safe services, attention to the culture of patient safety should be a priority in management programs, and in order to increase this culture, the groundwork for improving patient safety should be provided. Special attention should also be paid to the dimensions with low averages in this study in order to improve and strengthen these dimensions.Keywords: Patient safety culture, nurse, patient safety, educational medical center

IntroductionSmart hospitals, by leveraging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), are transforming efficiency and quality in healthcare delivery. However, the adoption and implementation of these technologies in healthcare settings face numerous challenges and barriers. This study aims to identify and systematically analyze the key factors affecting the adoption of smart hospital technologies, based on a literature review and using the Technology–Organization–Environment framework.MethodsThis study was conducted in 2023 through a narrative review of scientific literature published in databases such as PubMed, Scopus, EBSCOhost, and ScienceDirect. Keywords such as “smart health,” “health information technology,” “adoption,” “barriers,” and “challenges” were used for the search. After the initial screening of 10,418 retrieved articles, 26 studies were selected and analyzed using the TOE framework to extract the main challenges and barriers to technology adoption in smart hospitals.ResultsFindings show that the challenges in adopting smart hospital technologies can be categorized into three main domains: technological, organizational, and environmental. Issues such as data security, high costs, system incompatibility, staff resistance, lack of financial and human resources, weak leadership, regulatory constraints, low digital literacy among users, and insufficient training were identified. Among these, organizational challenges had the most significant impact on the adoption process.ConclusionOvercoming these barriers requires integrated strategies including strengthening data governance, investing in technology infrastructure, workforce training, and effective management change. Future research should focus on developing practical solutions to facilitate smart hospital adoption. Implementing these strategies can support policymakers and healthcare managers in improving hospital performance and service quality.

Distinguishing scientific knowledge from non-scientific knowledge in the field of medicine and health is very important. This study amies to present and explain the model of the accurate scientific information cycle in the applied field of health based on identifying the concepts and semantic relationships of pseudoscience and information disorders in the applied field of health and strategies to avoid the spread of pseudoscience and information disorders. This qualitative developmental study will be conducted using several methods and in two phases and four steps. The first phase includes three steps to identify concepts related to pseudoscience and information disorders in order to conceptualize and develop a conceptual model and identify related solutions, which will be carried out using the library review, field review, and grounded theory methods. The second phase is to explain the accurate scientific information cycle in the field of health, which will be implemented using the expert panel method. The model that will be explained in this study is a comprehensive model that can be applied in all societies and contexts. On the other hand, by considering the criterion of culture in it, the model will be localized for the Iranian health community.

Protecting households from the financial risks associated with healthcare utilization is a fundamental aspect of universal health coverage. Catastrophic health expenditure is a widely used indicator for assessing financial protection, with two principal approaches for its calculation:• Budget Share Approach: This method assesses household out-of-pocket (OOP) payments as a proportion of total household expenditures or income.• Capacity to Pay Approach: This method calculates household capacity to pay by deducting essential spending from total household expenditures. Then, the proportion of OOP payments to capacity to pay is calculated.In recent years, the capacity-to-pay approach has faced criticism, primarily due to its limited ability to accurately capture the extent to which OOP payments compromise essential household resources. Additionally, the approach entails computational complexities that hinder its application. In light of these considerations, adopting the budget share method with a 25% threshold is recommended for monitoring progress toward reducing household exposure to catastrophic health expenditures within the framework of the Seventh Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
