Introduction: Daily increase in medical errors has caused a lot of human and financial losses to the health system, which can be caused by the lack of appropriate management of these errors and investigation of their causes. In order to help control them, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of cybernetic management on medical errors.
Methods: The applied study was a descriptive-correlation survey. the sample consisted of doctors and nurses of four selected hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences were formed in 1402 and finally 170 questionnaires and checklists were collected. Data collection tools were Ghorbanzadeh questionnaire and SHERPA checklist. To analysis data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used and analyzed with SPSS-24 software.
Results: The findings of the research showed that there is a significant relationship between cybernetic management and medical errors, and 9% of the changes in the criterion variable, cybernetic management, can be explained by the variables of medical errors. Also, cybernetic management has an effect on communication errors (p-value=0.014), functional (p-value=0.009), revision (p-value=0.011) and recovery (p-value=0.001) and on selection errors (p-value=0.769) has no effect.
Conclusion: The results showed that medical errors were considerably reduced by using cybernetic management. In addition, the implementation of cybernetic features at different stages of errors can have a positive effect on hospital resources and save patients' lives.
Key words: cybernetic management; medical errors

Introduction: The ever-increasing increase in medical errors has caused a lot of life and financial losses to the health system, which can be caused by the lack of proper management of these errors and the investigation of their causes. On the other hand, managing these errors in the cybernetics branch and implementing its functions is also an effective factor in such problems. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between cybernetic management and medical errors.
Methods: the research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive and analytical in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the research was 170 physicians and nurses from four selected hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1402, and the statistical sample size of the research was obtained using available sampling method. The most important tools in the led method were questionnaires and checklist. In order to measure the variable of cybernetic management, Ghorbanzadeh's questionnaire (2008) and the variable of medical errors, which were examined in 5 action, checking, retrieval, information exchange (communication) and Selection dimensions, were used from Sherpa's checklist (1986). In this research, correlation and multivariate regression methods were used. SPSS-24 software was used to analyze the research data.
Results: There is a Signiant relationship between cybernetic management components and medical errors. Cybernetic management has an effect on action errors (p-value=0.009), checking errors (p-value=0.011), retrieval errors (p-value=0.001) and communication errors (p-value=0.014)) and on selection errors (p-value=0.769) does not have.
Conclusion: The results of the research indicated that the implementation of cybernetic management features as much as possible in different stages of occurrence of medical errors can reduce the incidence of functional errors (caused by incomplete or wrong performance or lack of action), checking (checking information incompletely or without done or wrong), retrieval (caused by incomplete and wrong access to information or lack of it), communication (caused by lack of exchange of information or incompletely done or wrong in it) and selection (caused by hasty selection or deletion of selection).
